Another big update for our Mural Project! The deadline to get our finalised image ready for installing is fast approaching and ideas within the workshops are blooming!
This week, we have been focused on creating the layout of our Mural - thinking less about colour (which will come later!) and more on the actual composition of our images. The workshop in which we ran involved laying out a collection of every idea we have produced and asking the team to trace over images that stood out to them, laying them out on one page to create concepts for possible compositions.
After this task and a group critic we then gathered our ideas back, cutting out pieces and rearranging them to create more coherent images.
Below are images of what ideas we currently have!
Very soon, after compiling these ideas together we will have a clear understanding of what our final image will be and can then move on to the next steps of colouring and text!
Below, one of our Production Managers, Becky, would like to share with us why this project is so important…
Hi I'm Becky I'm one of the Production managers for the Olio module this year.
This year we are doing something slightly different in that we are making a mural for Caring for Communities and People, who are a housing charity who support across the south West, and I work there!
This mural project is of special importance to me because whilst I worked for CCP I learnt all about the charity the cause and the determination of the support workers to support the service users when they needed it and heard the inspiring testimony of the experts by experience and how service users had gone on to be advocates and find work.
I hope that through this mural we are able to capture the spirit of CCP and the lower high street.
